A fierce equestrian athlete, Maria began competing in dressage and show jumping when she was 8 years old. Now an accomplished horsewoman, Maria learned early the essentials of form to function, the real importance of correct conformation, and the fundamentals of successful breeding. Her love of the Arabian horse came to her as a child when she would spend hours riding her grandparents' beautiful Arabian mares. "I grew up with them, they're a part of who I am..." She explains, "And although I've been around them for nearly two decades, I'm still amazed by their beauty, strength, and spirit."
